On June 13th, Risen energy’s "Carbon Neutrality Action for Large-scale Events" became a key highlight at the 17th International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Exhibition in Shanghai (SNEC 2024). The initiative drew widespread attention, with numerous guests and attendees gathering at Risen energy 's booth to participate and contribute to the exhibition's carbon neutrality efforts.
The event aligns with the Ministry of Ecology and Environment's "Implementation Guidelines for Carbon Neutrality of Large-scale Events (Trial)" released in 2019. These guidelines encourage organizers to offset greenhouse gas emissions generated by their events through carbon credits, quotas, or carbon sink projects, particularly in poverty-stricken areas. The goal is to promote low-carbon living and set a new societal trend.
Risen energy, committed to green and sustainable development, has consistently demonstrated leadership in supporting the national dual-carbon strategy and corporate ESG practices. Marking the fifth anniversary of the "Guidelines," Risen energy fully embraced the concept of carbon neutrality at SNEC 2024. We implemented low-carbon practices across various aspects of the event, from conference organization to resource conservation, green consumption, and low-carbon travel.
Risen energy also engaged a professional consulting firm to analyze and account for the greenhouse gas emissions associated with their exhibition. To offset these emissions, we purchased and canceled 32 tons of voluntary carbon credits from energy-saving renovation projects at the Guizhou Green Finance Low-Carbon Exchange Center, showcasing their commitment to sustainability.
The three-day event saw active participation, with attendees scanning QR codes to join the "Carbon Neutrality Action." Participants received a "Zero Carbon Benefits" certificate from the Green Exchange, affirming their contribution to carbon neutrality.
"The carbon emission data from this event is accurate, and the carbon offset measures meet the criteria for carbon neutrality," confirmed Li Xiang, CEO of the Green Exchange and Chief Strategy Officer of Green Finance Technology Group. "This event has successfully achieved carbon neutrality."
